Best Pistols for Eco Rounds in CS:GO
Ask any Counter-Strike aficionado what the most important round in a match is and they will surely tell you - the Eco-round. Often the economy boost that you get from winning an eco-round can mean winning the next two rounds as well. But with limited resources at your disposal, rifles are usually not an option so deciding what to do in such a situation is a difficult task. Buying the right pistols during an Eco-round can help turn the tide of a match that may be slipping out of your team's hands. Here is a list of all the pistols currently available in CS:GO. Five-Seven
The Five-Seven is a Belgian semi-automatic Counter-Terrorist pistol originally available only to the Counter-Terrorists. In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, it was available to both Counter-Terrorists and Terrorists until an update which restricted its sale to the CTs yet again. Its advantages are high rate of fire, good accuracy and its large magazine size. Despite these facts, the Five-seven is one of the least popular pistols in Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Source, but gained popularity with the release of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, since it does more damage, unlike in the previous games, and is much cheaper. In earlier games, if the Five-Seven and P90 are both equipped at once, they will draw from one pool of 100 rounds due to sharing cartridges. In Global Offensive, all types of ammo sharing had been removed, though the Five-SeveN originally incorrectly had ammo sharing, but has since been rectified in an update. Advantages - Large magazine size (20 rounds) - Can instantly kill armored enemies if a headshot is scored - High damage - Quiet firing sound - Short reload time - Relatively cheap ($500) Disadvantages: - Moderate damage - Not very accurate and headshots are no longer lethal at long ranges

Tec-9
#11.7The Tec-9 is a semi-automatic pistol featured in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, exclusive to the Terrorists. The counterpart for the Counter-Terrorists is the Five-Seven. The Tec-9 is a Swedish-made semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Intratec. It gained notoriety in the 80's and 90's for being easy to modify and convert into full-auto due to its open-bolt system, leading these modified versions to be the main weapon used in shootings and crime. Therefore, it was listed as one of the weapons in the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban. In-game, the weapon is semi-automatic, and is fed with 18 rounds of 9mm. The recoil is a bit wild when spraying bullets but usually accurate enough when burst firing (or tapping the primary attack key). It has excellent penetration power and damage, as well as a decent magazine capacity. The reload time is average, making it one of the most favorable pistols used during the pistol and eco rounds. Advantages: - Acceptable damage - Can kill a player even when wearing a helmet with one shot to the head - Cheap (PC:$500) (Console:$400) - Good rate of fire (In PC version) Same as Dual Berettas - Average reload time - High penetration - High reserve ammunition (90) Disadvantages: - High recoil - Wide spread upon continuous rapid fire - Low accuracy - Low rate of fire (Console Version)
Desert Eagle
#23.3The Desert Eagle, commonly nicknamed "Deagle" or "Hand Cannon", is a powerful semi-automatic pistol for highly skilled players. It is available to both teams. It is loaded with 7 rounds of .50 Action Express which makes it able to inflict high amounts of damage. The Desert Eagle is usually one of the most popular and widely used sidearms in the Counter-Strike games. Currently, in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, it costs $700 as opposed to $650 for the previous versions. The Desert Eagle is the only weapon in the pistol class with high penetration, making it possible to score double kills in one shot if opponents are lined up. The movement speed of this weapon is 250 units per second, meaning users will not suffer any speed reduction. However, in Global Offensive, it has a movement speed of 230 units per second, which is a moderate speed reduction. As such, the Desert Eagle has the second slowest movement speed of all pistols, with a faster movement speed over the R8 Revolver. Advantages: - High damage pistol - High penetration - High accuracy at long range (compared to its counterparts) in CS:GO - High DPS (damage per second) due to its instant kill from a headshot even if a helmet is worn by the target Disadvantages: - Small magazine size compared to other pistols - Low rate of fire - High spread and recoil - The second heaviest pistol in Global Offensive (beaten by R8 Revolver) The most expensive pistol in Global Offensive (tied with the R8 Revolver at $700) - Damage noticeably drops off at long range

CZ75 - Auto
#43.7The CZ75-Auto is the first full-auto pistol featured in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, it was released on the February 12, 2014, alongside Weapon Case 3, with its first skins being featured in that case. The CZ75 is made by Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod (CZUB) in the Czech Republic. First introduced in 1975, it is one of the original "wonder nines" featuring a staggered-column magazine, all-steel construction, and a hammer forged barrel. It has a good reputation amongst pistol shooters for quality and versatility at a reasonable price. The CZ75 used in Global Offensive is the CZ 75 Automatic, a selective fire version of the CZ 75B variant only for sale to Police and Military units. The variant includes a muzzle compensator and the ability to mount a spare magazine in front of the trigger guard for use as a foregrip. The Global Offensive variant holds only 12 rounds in a magazine, and one spare magazine of 12 rounds in reserve. Its kill award is $100 in Competitive and $50 in Casual. At introduction, The CZ75-Auto occupies the same loadout slot as the P250. After an update, it can be equipped in the loadout menu to replace the Five-SeveN for Counter-Terrorists and Tec-9 for Terrorists. Like these two pistols, this pistol is very popular for players to use in pistol rounds. Advantages: - Extremely high close-range dps - Relatively cheap ($500). - Inflicts more damage against armored opponents than the Glock, P2000 and USP-S. - The only fully-automatic pistol in the game. - Capable at scoring a one-hit headshot kill on an enemy that wears a helmet when up close and personal. Disadvantages: - When fired in full-auto, it becomes very inaccurate. - Its first shot has the lowest accuracy out of all the pistols in CS:GO - Very low ammunition reserve (12 rounds) and a smaller magazine than most pistols (12 rounds). - A poor weapon of choice outside close-mid range combat - Long draw and reload time (compared to most of the other pistols) - Low kill reward ($100)
USP-S
#54.0The USP-S is a silencer-compatible pistol featured in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and was added into the game on the August 14, 2013 Arms Deal update. It is a successor of the USP from previous Counter-Strike games. The USP (Universale Selbstladepistole or "universal self-loading pistol") is a semi-automatic pistol developed in Germany by Heckler & Koch GmbH (H&K) of Oberndorf am Neckar as a replacement for the P7 series of handguns. In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, like its predecessor, the USP pistol is the USP Tactical, a variant of the default USP, and it is capable in firing 9mm Parabellum, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP rounds. Unlike other pistols and its predecessor, the USP-S carries a low ammunition reserve of 24 rounds, only 2 extra magazines, and is exclusive to the Counter-Terrorists team. The USP is given as a spawn pistol if equipped beforehand, otherwise it can be bought for $200. Advantages: - High accuracy - Low recoil - Default pistol for Counter-Terrorists (if equipped) - The silencer maintains stealth - No tracers if the silencer is attached - High running accuracy Disadvantages: - Low amount of reserve ammunition - Low armor penetration power - Long pistol weapon length - Low rate of fire
P250
#65.7The P250 is a semi-automatic pistol featured in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The SIG Sauer P250 is a semi-automatic pistol manufactured by SIG Sauer of New Hampshire. It was designed with a modular design. It was first introduced to the market in 2007, though it is not widely distributed as orders for the pistol were cancelled in some countries. The in-game weapon is modeled after an early model P250 Compact variant. In-game, the P250 holds 13 rounds of .357 SIG caliber. It is priced at $300 with 26 rounds in reserve and has a magazine capacity of 13 in each magazine. Kill award is default. Advantages: - Very cheap - Inflicts more damage against armored opponents than the Glock-18, P2000, and the USP-S - Low/manageable recoil Disadvantages: - When fired continuously, it becomes less accurate - Low ammunition reserve - Less effective outside close range combat - Slightly worse first shot accuracy than the Glock and the P2000
Dual Berettas
#76.3The Dual Berettas, or .40 Dual Elites, as they were previously known, are a pair of pistols featured in the Counter-Strike series, exclusive to Terrorists before Global Offensive but available to both teams in Global Offensive. The counterpart for the Counter-Terrorists before Global Offensive is the Five-seven. The Dual Berettas are moderately powerful semi-automatic pistols that were originally available only to the Terrorists, but available for both factions since Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. They are usually bought for their appealing aesthetics or fun factor and the Dual Berettas are one of the few weapons to be continuously added because of overwhelming fan support. For this reason, the Elites are one of the more popular pistols in the Counter-Strike series, mainly in Counter-Strike: Source, although players rarely purchase this weapon in competitive rounds. In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, they cost $400 as of 9/26, opposed to $800 from the previous Counter-Strike games. Bots in Global Offensive will rarely/sometimes buy them. However, the Dual Berettas are fairly common among bots in Source, especially if they are restricted to use pistols only. Terrorist bots in older games sometimes uses the Dual Berettas if they are restricted in wielding other weapons. In Condition Zero, expert bots will always spray bullets and aim for the head. If recoil increases, they may aim above the target instead of below. As a result, their accuracy is limited to the first or second bullet. These are the only pistols that cannot be used with the Tactical Shield, as 2 pistols require 2 hands to properly wield. In earlier games, if equipped at the same time as the KM Sub-Machine Gun or Schmidt Machine Pistol, the Dual Elites will share the same ammo pool of 120 rounds due to sharing the same cartridge. Advantages: - High rate of fire - Double the firepower from a single pistol - Large magazine size (30) - High reserve ammunition (120) - Inflicts fairly high damage (in Source) - Low recoil and spread (CS:GO) - Lightweight - Relatively cheap ($400) (in Global Offensive) Disadvantages: - Low accuracy (CS, CZ, CS:S) - Long reload time - Short accurate range - Cannot be used with the Tactical shield - Most expensive pistol (CS, CZ, CS:S)
R8 Revolver
#88.0The R8 Revolver is an 8 shot revolver introduced as part of the 2015 Winter Update to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The R8 Revolver, known in real life as the Smith & Wesson Model 327 Performance Center M&P R8, is the third pistol to be introduced to Global Offensive since the game's retail release. It can be switched out for the Desert Eagle in-game. The Revolver is capable of firing 8 rounds via two separate attacks with only 8 rounds in reserve. The primary attack draws the hammer back before firing. As the hammer is drawn back, the accuracy of the revolver increases, movement speed drops to 180 units per second and then the gun fires after a 0.2 second delay. The secondary attack is a quick shot using the fanning technique, resulting in a much faster but less accurate shot. In comparison to the Desert Eagle, this weapon deals more damage and is capable in killing a player at close range in two hits against an armored opponent. The primary fire is more accurate and can fire one shot more before reloading. On the downside, primary fire is much slower, requires to lower the hammer before able to fire a shot, the movement speed is lowered to 180 (220 when not firing which is still slower than the Desert Eagle), and has much lower ammo in reserve which forces the player to fire sparingly. The rate of fire in secondary mode is still lower than the Desert Eagle, and the revolver costs the same as the Desert Eagle. This weapon is not available in Competitive Matchmaking mode after the March 24, 2017, but it is added back to Competitive matchmaking, along with the Negev, following the April 12, 2017 update. Advantages: - Extremely high damage for a handgun. - Instant headshot kill at any range. - Capable of killing enemies without armor with a shot to the groin region. - Good penetration. - Capable of firing faster using the secondary firing mode. Disadvantages: - Very low ammunition in total(16 rounds); eight shots in the cylinder, and eight in reserve. - Lower accuracy when using secondary fire mode compared to the primary fire mode. - Currently the heaviest handgun available, even heavier than many primary weapons. - .2 second delay when using the primary fire mode (the hammer cocking back is audible to anyone close enough to hear it, thus risking giving away the user's position).
Glock-18
#99.0The Glock-18, or 9×19mm Sidearm as it was previously known, is one of the pistols featured in the Counter-Strike series. It makes an appearance as the spawn pistol for the Terrorists in every game. The Glock-18 is a selective fire variant of the Glock 17, developed at the request of the Austrian Counter-Terrorist unit EKO Cobra. This machine pistol–class firearm has a lever-type fire-control selector switch, installed on the serrated portion of the rear left side of the slide. With the selector lever in the bottom position, the pistol will fire fully automatic and, with the selector lever in the top position, the pistol will fire semi-automatically. Because of its design as a machine pistol, in real life it is exclusively used by Counter-Terrorist operatives and is not available to the general public in most countries. In-game, the Glock-18 is the cheapest firearm in the Counter-Strike series, costing only $200 in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and $400 in the previous iterations. In the first three Counter-Strike games, a Glock-18 user moves at 250 units per second, meaning they do not suffer any speed reduction. In Global Offensive however, a Glock wielder moves at 240 units per second, slightly slower when compared to the older games. The Glock is also one of the many weapons capable of shooting underwater. Unlike the real Glock-18, the in-game portrayal of the Glock-18 features a burst-fire option. It is one of two weapons in Counter-Strike with a burst feature, the other being the FAMAS. P2000
#1010.0The P2000 is a Counter-Terrorist spawn pistol in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The P2000 is intended to replace the USP from previous Counter-Strike games. It was developed by Germany-based Heckler and Koch, designed for law enforcement and paramilitary services, and it is chambered in calibers like 9mm, .357 SIG, and .40S&W. The P2000 in-game is modeled after the 9mm standard model. Like the USP from previous games, the P2000 is designed to be the Counter-Terrorists' starting handgun. However, unlike other games, it does not feature a silencer and Terrorists cannot purchase the P2000—they can only obtain one from dead Counter-Terrorists. The movement speed of the P2000 is 240 units per second, meaning users suffer from light speed reduction.
