Katrín Lea Elenudóttir (born 1998/1999) is an Icelandic model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Iceland 2018. She will represent Iceland at Miss Universe 2018 pageant in Bangkok, Thailand. Katrín was born in Omsk, Russia to a Russian mother Elena Skorobogatova. She is of mixed German, Ukrainian, Armenian, and Russian descent. As a child, Katrín emigrated from Russia to Iceland, settling in Reykjavík. After arriving in Iceland, she learned to speak Icelandic, and is additionally fluent in English and Russian. Katrín is a student at Menntaskólinn í Reykjavík, the most prestigious high school in Iceland. Katrín began her pageantry career at Miss Universe Iceland 2018, competing as Miss Midnight Sun. She went on to win the competition, held in Reykjanesbær, being crowned by outgoing titleholder Arna Ýr Jónsdóttir. As Miss Universe Iceland 2018, Katrín will represent Iceland at Miss Universe 2018 in Bangkok. Katrin Lea was born in Siberia, Russia but raised in Iceland almost all her childhood. She is fluent in Icelandic, English and Russian and is passionate about learning Danish, Latin, and French. She volunteers assisting teen immigrants with school work as well as helping them with daily life challenges they may be facing. This became her passion because of her strong connection she has with them as an immigrant herself. She has established a program called "BeBrave" which focuses on helping immigrants adjust to a new country and culture. In her spare time she enjoys running, reading the classics, going to the theater and traveling abroad. She looks forward to visiting Asia for the first time and learning more about the Thai culture.
