Paris Saint-Germain Football Club, commonly known as Paris Saint-Germain (French pronunciation: [paʁi sɛ̃ ʒɛʁmɛ̃]) and familiarly as PSG or Paris SG, is a French sports club founded in 1970, and based in the city of Paris in France. The club is most notable for its professional football team, which plays in the highest tier of French football, the Ligue 1.[1] The Parc des Princes, with a seating capacity of 47,929 spectators,[2] has been the home ground of Paris Saint-Germain since 1974.[3] PSG is the most successful French club in history in terms of trophies won, with 33.[4] Domestically, the Parisians have won six Ligue 1 titles, a record eleven French Cups, a record seven French League Cups, and a record seven French Super Cups. FC Barcelona, also known simply as Barcelona and familiarly as Barça, is based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The team was founded in 1899 by a group of Swiss, English and Spanish footballers led by Joan Gamper. The club played amateur football until 1910 in various regional competitions. In 1910, the club participated in their first of many European competitions, and has since amassed ten UEFA trophies and a sextuple. In terms of the number of titles, Atlético Madrid is the fourth most successful club in Spanish football, behind Barcelona, Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao. Founded in 1880 as St. Mark's (West Gorton), they became Ardwick Association Football Club in 1887 and Manchester City in 1894. The club moved to the City of Manchester Stadium in 2003, having played at Maine Road since 1923. Founded in 1882, Tottenham won the FA Cup for the first time in 1901, making them the only non-League club to do so since the formation of the Football League in 1888. Tottenham were the first club in the 20th century to achieve the League and FA Cup Double, winning both competitions in the 1960–61 season. After successfully defending the FA Cup in 1962, in 1963 they became the first British club to win a UEFA club competition – the European Cup Winners' Cup.[3] In 1967, Spurs won the FA Cup for a third time in the 1960s. In the 1970s Tottenham won the League Cup on two occasions and were the inaugural winner of the UEFA Cup in 1972, becoming the first British club to win two different major European trophies. Despite being primarily a football club, Santos compete in a number of different sports, including American football, surfing, and even eSports. It plays in the Paulistão, the State of São Paulo's premier state league, as well as the Brasileirão, the top tier of the Brazilian football league system. Santos are one of the only four clubs to have never been relegated, along with São Paulo, Flamengo and Cruzeiro. The club was founded in 1912 by the initiative of three sports enthusiasts from Santos by Raimundo Marques, Mário Ferraz de Campos, and Argemiro de Souza Júnior as a response to the lack of representation the city had in football. Since then, Santos became one of Brazil's most successful clubs, becoming a symbol of Jogo Bonito (English: the Beautiful Game) in football culture, hence the motto "Técnica e Disciplina" (Technique and discipline). The most recognized Santista anthem is the "Leão do Mar" written by Mangeri Neto.
