Sounds crazy? This is one is my favorite! Just leave the things you need only while you’re traveling stashed in your suitcase. I leave my neck pillow, adapter, and other travel only items in my suitcase at all times—it saves storage space, and I don’t have to rummage around for them when it’s time for my next trip. That’s fewer things I have to pack!
Use travel-sized containers for all of your toiletries and simply refill the individual bottles at home when you're running low—everything else doesn’t need to be packed and unpacked every time. Bonus: Replenish your kit with hotel-provided amenities that are perfectly travel-sized next time you stay somewhere nice.
Keep a basket in your bedroom or laundry room where you can throw in items you'll need to pack as you come across them. This makes you less likely to forget these items. The best part - you can just toss the contents of the basket into your suitcase when you panic-pack right before leaving for the airport!
Always wear the same outfit every time you fly. Pick an outfit that is comfortable, presentable, and warm — key elements whether you're in the air for an hour or for 20 hours. Choose something from your wardrobe and commit to making it your travel uniform. You don't need to stress over at least one outfit on your trip—you can just pull it on and go.
You won’t need to worry about carefully packing your items of clothing if they’re made from wrinkle-free fabrics. Ball them up in your suitcase, crumple them at the bottom of your carry-on, whatever — you’ll still look fresh and pulled together when you arrive in your destination.
Create a note on your phone the next time you’re packing that lists everything you’re bringing or just get a copy online! You may have to swap out a swimsuit for a business suit, but the standard essentials (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.) will stay the same, and you can see at a glance what you need to bring. This way you won't miss out anything and packing gets done super fast.
Don’t spend your afternoon folding clothing before popping it into your suitcase, it’s going to get wrinkled regardless. Roll your clothing instead. It takes half the time and you’ll even be rewarded for your laziness because this method reduces wrinkles.
