**Root (2020)** is the digital adaptation of the beloved tabletop board game, offering a captivating experience of woodland might and right for 2 to 4 players. This game of adventure and war plunges you into a vast wilderness where the nefarious Marquise de Cat has seized control, intent on exploiting its riches. However, the forest's creatures have united in an Alliance, seeking to subvert feline rule and strengthen their resources. They may even enlist the aid of the enigmatic Vagabonds, free spirits who navigate the perilous paths of the woods. Meanwhile, the proud Eyrie Dynasties, yearning to reclaim their ancient birthright under a new commander, prepare for a decisive contest. The fate of the great woodland rests in your hands as you choose which faction will ultimately take root. As the **Marquise de Cat**, you command a powerful industrial war machine, excelling at engine building and logistics. Your goal is to build Workshops, Sawmills, and Recruiters to score victory points, but this requires careful management and protection of a robust Wood economy. The **Eyrie Dynasties** are bound by their Decree, a progressively demanding set of actions dictated by their chosen leader. Capturing territory and building Roosts are key to scoring points, but failing to fulfill the Decree can lead to ruin. The **Woodland Alliance** masters guerrilla warfare, starting slow but capable of becoming a late-game powerhouse by gaining sympathy and inciting revolt. Finally, the **Vagabond** is a cunning adventurer and scoundrel, exploring ruins, trading with factions, and completing quests to gain renown. Root's unique asymmetrical gameplay, where each faction plays entirely differently, combined with its thematic richness and strategic depth, makes it a standout title from Dire Wolf, demonstrating their exceptional talent for translating beloved board games into engaging digital experiences.
