In this frenetic black comedy, Robin Williams stars as Joey O'Brien, a slick car salesman with a major problem. He has just two days to sell 12 cars or he loses his job. This would be a difficult task at the best of times, but Joey also has to contend with his two girlfriends (he's two-timing), a missing teenage daughter, and an ex-wife. Just when it seems his life can't get any more complicated, the question of "What more could go wrong?" is answered in spectacular fashion when a crazy, jealous husband (a scene-stealing Tim Robbins) storms the dealership with a machine gun, taking everyone hostage and turning the sales floor into a life-or-death negotiation. While director Roger Donaldson is often acclaimed for his taut thrillers like *No Way Out* and grounded dramas like *The World's Fastest Indian*, *Cadillac Man* secures its place among his best films by showcasing his incredible skill at managing tonal shifts and organized chaos. The film is a masterclass in creating a pressure-cooker environment, confining much of the action to a single location and forcing its characters to clash. Donaldson expertly harnesses Robin Williams's signature manic energy, channeling it perfectly into the character of a fast-talking salesman whose gift of gab becomes his only weapon. This masterful blend of high-stakes suspense, sharp satire, and character-driven comedy demonstrates Donaldson's versatility and makes *Cadillac Man* a uniquely frantic and unforgettable entry in his impressive career.
