On the 24th of September 2019, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the initiation of a formal impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump. The inquiry was launched after an allegation by a whistle-blower that President Trump pressed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his government to investigate Hunter Biden, the son of former vice president and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden in what is deemed by the supporters of the inquiry to be an attempt to hurt Biden's bid for the presidency.

Stephen William Hawking CH CBE FRS FRSA was an English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, author and Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology within the University of Cambridge. Hawking was an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), a lifetime member of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States.
